Elections Lost 20% of Legitimacy because of Nemtsov’s Performance

The main news, certainly, is Nemtsov's removal from presidential race. It seems to me, it was a real unexpectedness and unexpectedness in the modern Uzbek policy of the Russian Federation happens seldom. The Uzbek policy does not bear unexpectedness. The presidium of the Party of Regions didn't agreed with the fact that Raisa Bogatyryova occupied a post of the Secretary of the Council, People's Deputy Vasily Khara confirmed the words of ex-prime-minister. He noted that Bogatyryova should get defined with her position. As Khara said, "she has made the decision to occupy the post in the National Security and Defense Council by herself and has time to think till morning". Now all depends on her personal decision, the deputy added. As he said, by situation, Bogatyryova all the same would agree with appointment but "it would seem that she asked for the time to agree her decision with political force". In his turn Victor Janukovich noted that he considered inadmissible representation of opposition in the state bodies. As he said, Bogatyryova hasn't made the decision yet on the transfer to the post of the secretary of the council.

Yesterday Julia Timoshenko made the first working trip in the status of the head of the government. She went to Donetsk where she held a meeting with families of the miners who died as a result of explosions in the mine named after Zasyadko and the meeting devoted to questions of the coal industry. Prime-minister Timoshenko scarified the work of the governmental commission on liquidation of consequences of the failure created by the last government and informed about creation of a new one. The cabinet is going to increase average pension of miners more than on 1000 hryvnyas (200 dollars) per a month in 2008. It was declared by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Lyudmila Denisova at a meeting with labour collective of the mine named after Zasyadko in Donetsk.

The president of Ukraine Victor Jushchenko appointed Raisa Bogatyryova the Secretary of National Safety and Defence Council. Raisa Bogatyryova - one of the leaders of fraction the Party of Regions in present parliament (the 2-nd number of the electoral list). She headed fraction the PR in the previous Supreme Rada. She has two higher educations - medical and legal and also a degree of doctor of medical science, professor. Since January, 1999 till January, 2000 Bogatyryova occupied the post of the Minister of Health. In opinion of experts, Raisa Bogatyryova's appointment to the post of the Secretary of National Safety and Defence Council should be considered through a prism of rapproachement of Victor Jushchenko with a part of Donetsk command representing business-group of Rinat Ahmetov. Rewarding of the representative of the Party of Regions Boris Kolesnikov with "For Merits" medal of the II degree is another fact in favour of such assumption.

American magazine Time declared its rating of persons of 2007 having named the president of Russia Vladimir Putin a person of a leaving year. Last Russian politician who received that title was the first and the last president of the USSR Michael Gorbachev whom the magazine in 1989 chose as "a person of decade". In opinion of editorial board of magazine, this year Putin was just the person who more than others influenced news and our lives - in good and bad sense. First special measures which would allow him to remain for the third presidential term were awaited from him, then - the announcement of a name of the successor and after - an application about future place of his work. "He - is a new Russian tsar, he is dangerous in the sense that he doesn't care of civil freedom, freedom of speech. Yesterday the Supreme Rada of Ukraine by open voting by 226 voices "pro" approved Julia Timoshenko as the prime minister of the country. «There is nothing surprising here, - the head of the Ukrainian editorial board of FORUM.msk, political scientist Vladimir Filin commented on phone from Minsk where he is now, - that Julia Vladimirovna becomes the head of the government, it was clear in the evening on September, 30th, when the results of exit-pools appeared, we wrote then about it on FORUM.msk». In Vladimir Filin's opinion, "Julia Timoshenko has come to power seriously and for a long time. Those who consider that it will be possible to get rid of her and her cabinet in half a year are mistaken. Global Growing Prices on Foodstuffs Awaits Us

According to the forecasts published in newspaper Financial Times, considerable growing prices on foodstuffs is being awaited in 2008. Meanwhile experts of investment bank Credit Suisse consider that fast growing prices will proceed next 3-5 years. For the last year the price for wheat in the world markets has grown twice, the prices for corn and rice also beat records. In Russia cut-off the 10th of December the growth of consumer prices has made 11,1%. "Independent agricultural production disappears all over the planet, - Anatoly Baranov finishes, - today already all processing of agricultural products is also in hands of world monopolists. Our statisticians are pleased with the growth in the food industry of Russia, but in fact these are - "Nestle", "Bonduel", "Coca-cola", "Philip Morris" and not domestic production. No, the author has not entered movement "Following Putin", he doesn't have heavy form of mental debility. The author simply quoted Article 1 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. After celebrating of the next Day of the Russian Constitution which took place on December, 12th, it's quite pardonable weakness - to address to the primary source of celebrating. We Haven’t Been Observing the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe for Already 24 Hours

Yesterday at midnight in Russia the moratorium on the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe came into action. The official application about it was distributed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to it granting of information against the Treaty stops and quantity and accommodation of our arms and technics will depend now on military-political situation in the world. Organization for Safety and Cooperation in Europe calls to Russia to reconsider its decision about suspension of participation in the Treaty. >>

On Friday the Supreme court of Ukraine ordered Black Sea Fleet the Russian Federation to transfer the Crimean beacons to the control of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence and simultaneously Kiev forbade the Russian ships to leave water area of Sevastopol without preliminary explanations, where and what for. If the story with the beacons is old and silly enough as Black Sea Fleet of Ukraine de facto has no hydrographic service and its infrastructure will be partly plundered, partially simply given up, restriction of a free walking out of the fighting ships - is a problem.

Apparently, Timoshenko's appointment - is a question of some time and great bargain. But the question in its essence is solved. It is worthy only to consider possible consequences of this event.

The president of Ukraine Victor Jushchenko offered Julia Timoshenko's nominee on a post of the prime minister. Voting takes place in the Supreme Rada a little bit later and it's unknown what will be the end. Meanwhile Ukraine was visited by the president of the neighbouring Poland Lekh Kachinsky who offered it, at last, to make final decision on its introduction into the European Union and NATO. According to the Polish president, "if we are in that part of the Europe where there is Poland and Ukraine, though Ukraine is situated more to the east, it is necessary to make a choice, if we are on the one side or different ones. Kachinsky called Ukraine to be guided aside the Europe instead of Russia. As he said, "Russia, I do not estimate it, I name the facts - is and remains important political factor in this part of the Europe and the force of Russia renews. But if we are in this part of the Europe, we should make a choice to one or other part and one of these parts is the European Union".

Strength and, I would say, hysteria of official propagation were aimed at attributing voices of more than half of Russian voters to Putin. After that he could recognize that his legitimacy exceeds legitimacy of the law and he could rise above it. As a matter of fact, there was a firm feeling that he stood in elections not for the post of the deputy of the State Duma but of the autocrat - a person whose desire is the basic source of any law in force.

Moreover: in his speechifications on November, 21st and 28th he evidently showed that he entered the category of people to whom "as the fool thinks, the bell clinks", imposing in advance to the Russians qualitatively new reality. It is his firm style: during elections of 2000 he in the same way imposed to the Russians a new reality, driving all over the country and flogged into the heads the unique idea: "I am already here, I already control you, if you vote for me, you will simply agree with already existing order". >>

Results of Elections Is – Well Made Homework on “Churov’s Geometry”

Results of elections under the version of the Central Electoral Commission after processing of more than 30 % of bulletins look the same as data of "surveys" in September, as data of "exit-pools" and in general as well made homework. There is no sense to discuss them, it's the same as to discuss multiplication table or the list of advantageous tickets of VAAAAF. Reality corrects a bit a picture of the world given us in perception of Mr. Churova. So, very few can say that the overwhelming majority of their friends were going to vote for "Edinaya Russia". But it's clear at a household level that if the majority of friends did not vote for ER, then it's not clear whence it got 63 percent. While at a level of the Central Electoral Commission everything is clear. Because it is possible to use EG where it's possible to draw only one straight line through one point parallel to the given one. At the same time it's possible to use Lobachevski geometry where though one point is possible to draw infinitely many lines parallel to the given. So, it's not possible following EG but it's ok following Lobachevski (or Churov).
