The leader of Russia Vladimir Putin and the prime minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, having overcome divergences in positions of the sides, expressed determination to sign peace treaty by way of final solution of the matter in mutually acceptable form, is stipulated in the joint statement of the president of the Russian Federation and the prime minister of Japan. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of two countries are entrusted to accelerate negotiations on the development of mutually acceptable variants of problem solution.
"Heads of two countries agreed that situation in which no peace treaty was signed between Russia and Japan 67 years after the end of World War II is abnormal," — is said in the statement following the results of negotiations in the Kremlin.
“Having overcome existing divergences in positions of the sides within frameworks of negotiations the heads of two countries expressed determination to sign peace treaty by way of making final decision of the question in mutually acceptable form for further development of relations between two countries and creation of broad Russian-Japanese partnership in the 21st century, the need of settlement of the question was confirmed also in the joint statement of the president of the Russian Federation and the prime minister of Japan on adoption of the Russian-Japanese plan of action and the Russian-Japanese plan of action of 2003," — is said in the document.

There’s one really abnormal thing mentioned in communique – absence of peace treaty between Russia and Japan 67 years after the end of World War II. Though if it’s our problem? Russia, actually, is a country - winner. Japan is not simply country - aggressor, but also country - criminal and it was recognized at the international tribunal in Tokyo. Perhaps we will give Kaliningrad to Germany and Vyborg to Finland?
If Japan 67 years later doesn't want to recognize results of World War II, it means that mode in Tokyo is the same which bombed Pearl Harbour and arranged genocide in China. Just now one’s hands are short.
China, by the way, also didn't sign peace treaty with Tokyo, it wasn’t done because of the same reasons - country - aggressor demands territorial compensations. However, Beijing answers to it with participation of aircraft carriers...
Because they don’t bribe in Beijing for decision of such questions - there people are shot for such focuses.
One can’t forget that in the 90-s the Japanese emissaries walk in Moscow with one intention - to give somebody money for islands. Though even Yeltsin's mode didn’t agree on it. While now "leader focused on the nation" hands everything over, he is not greedy.
Really – what Japan can do to make Russia hand islands over... What? They will stop selling us TV-sets "Sony"? Will stop delivering cars Mitsubishi? Will close sushi bars?
Just think - the prime minister of Japan came to beg energy carriers, because situation in the economy of his country is not good. I guess he also cast the line about islands – say, you give us the territory and we will give you a piece of paper which generally nobody needs!
After all, by and large, we are not interested in the sale of energy carriers to the Japanese. Putin and his gang needs, several tens of new billionaires will appear. While these mad, irreplaceable sales of resources bring absolutely nothing to simple people, citizens. Moreover, sometimes we even buy gasoline at higher price, than the one whom we sell it.
It’s interesting that video where Lev Ponomarev discusses question of islands with the secretary of embassy of Japan looks like is recognized to be almost state treason. While now they sell islands in broad daylight and nobody says nothing!
Udaltsov and Razvozzhayev are in prison being suspected of treason of the state – well, they talked to the Georgians. While here whole islands are sold here - it seems that someone will even get awards for the merits before Fatherland...
