Two interior troops were killed and five injured in a Saturday attack on a reconnaissance group in the troubled Republic of Chechnya in Russia's North Caucasus, the local interior ministry said.
The attack occurred in the village of Dargo in the Vedeno district in the southeast of the republic. An infantry combat vehicle hit a remote controlled mine that killed one and injured another interior troops soldier.
Immediately after the explosion, unidentified persons opened fire on the interior troops. A few minutes later, another bomb went off several meters away from the scene of the first explosion, killing one and wounding four interior troops, the local interior ministry said.
Measures have been launched to find the attackers.
