Storm wind which fell in on Friday on the Black Sea coast of Kuban became the reason of big catastrophe and breakages of transmission lines in Novorossisk and Anapskaya region. More than 130 thousand inhabitants still remain without electricity.

Power supply of a city of Anapa and eight rural settlements which are a part of municipality was interrupted this morning, accident happened at 7 o'clock 45 minutes at once on two high-voltage lines feeding the city: "Novorossisk - Anapa" and "Varenikovskaya - Dzhemete". The strongest wind with impulses up to 33 meters per second and 15-degree frost became the reason.

Hurricane fell upon the city the day before. On Thursday evening interruption of small transmission lines which were operatively liquidated by our power engineers took place.

Three mountain areas of Novorossisk remained without power supply now: Tsemesskaya Valley, villages Raevskaya and Natukhaevskaya. About 30 thousand people live there.

Wire breakage happened due to strong wind (up to 35 meters per second). Three substations - Southern, Northwest and dacha constructive cooperative appeared without power supply.

- I will remind that Sochi is in the same region, - editor-in-chief of FORUM.msk Anatoly Baranov told, - and power supply is arranged under the same scheme there. They have one and the same every winter - mass switching-off of electricity happens hardly weather becomes worse. 21st century... There often there no snow. Subtropics. While the Olympic Games will be winter ones. It is possible, of course, to bring artificial snow, but a lot of energy is necessary for its manufacture... I am not talking that the visitors of the Olympic Games will have to sit romantically by candlelight. Or winds will be cancelled by Putin's decree?
