Murder of the Ally

Murder of the Ally
Yury Mukhin 06.09.2010

Not so long ago I wrote a series of articles «Questions of Questions» in which I once again specified that elite of the USSR was under blackmail of the West and at Gorbachev it almost surrendered to the West. I believe that article of Lukyanov in "Ogonek" also acknowledged it as even for this yellow magazine fact of participation of special services of the USSR in revolution in Romania and in murder of spouses Ceausescu is doubtless.

Whether Gorbachev needed the murder, unless he was blackmailed? Why did he prepare it and prepared it in advance, economically?

After all Romania was also a member of the Warsaw pact (military alliance) and a member of Councilor for Mutual Economic Assistance. Therefore economic maxims of "Ogonek" terrified by "illiterate" economic policy of Ceausescu cost nothing:

"In economy of Ceausescu created factories-giants, resources for their building he got either in view of credit in the West, or beat out from the Romanian agriculture. Revolts were cruelly suppressed. Soon, however, it was found out: there's no market for the products - the USSR had own factories-giants, the West bought bad quality Romanian goods unwillingly. Successfully begun experiment led to pitiful result and pumping out of means from agriculture - to terrible deficiency: by the end of 1980-s population of Romania received meat and dairy products by cards. In 1983 Ceausescu ceased to take credits and decided to liquidate external debt completely. The decision cost to Romania monstrous falling of a standard of living: to 1989 only Albania had worse situation, than Romania from all European socialist countries. Situation reminded the USSR in 1930-s years: there was nothing to eat, the foodstuffs were exported. All debts liquidated in summer of 1989 - right before "revolution". The treasury appeared to be empty".

Council for Mutual Economic Assistance provided by planning that there was guaranteed sale of production in all countries-participants that caused no problems at huge market of the USSR. The Romanian footwear, suits and, especially, furniture was perfectly well sold - I remember these things were seen in shops. Romania produced steel, per capita, twice more, than Germany. Whether it couldn't sell steel on the West those years when even the USSR producing it per capita more, than Romania imported it? Whether Romania couldn't sell oil and petrochemical goods? The Kalashnikov gun of the Romanian manufacture sold all over the world conceded by quantity only to the samples of the Soviet manufacture. Whether it couldn't sell it?

Having reconstructed industry technically and technologically Romania suddenly lost sale of the goods, is it so?!

Lukyanov writes that "treasury was empty". But the treasury feeds only civil servants, why the workers of agriculture and industry remained without money? After everything's vise versa: if the treasury doesn't spend money for payment of percent on loans, it isn't empty, it's much fuller, than in the country burdened with credits!

The scenario was as in the USSR, where on the eve of revolution we got deficiency after, say, middle of 80s when all shops burst with the goods, when even such scarce thing as car was possible to buy by installments. Though in Romania, judging from written by "Ogonek", it was a little bit differently - the West and the USSR stopped purchase of the goods from Romania - blockade of purchase of the industrial goods caused economic crisis.

Conclusion made in the article is, certainly, in the spirit of intellectuals of "Ogonek" - Lukyanov wrote that Ceausescu was killed, as a matter of fact, by Bush-senior with Gorbachev, he finished: "In general, the country which shot the leader on Christmas eve again make idol of him".

What has the country to do with it?

Of course, the main question remains - if the leader of the USSR even such silly and sly as Gorbachev could participate in the murder of his ally without being pressed or blackmailed?

From editorial board: Speaking about causes of murder of spouses Ceausescu - unprecedentedly cruel even for a cruel epoch of ruin of socialist camp - it is impossible to pass by the Romanian nuclear program. Romania at Ceausescu produced more steel, than Germany and hardly less the Kalashnikov guns, than the USSR, it also stood on the threshold of possession own nuclear weapon.

Bucharest started own project on creation of atomic weapons in the end of 1976. Group of nuclear physicists worked in the confidential center in the city of Megurele, it was formed especially for its realization. Information was revealed in 2006 by Mihae Belenesku - former director of the Romanian institute of nuclear physics.

Within the limits of the program on nuclear power Romania had concrete program directed on creation of nuclear weapon before the beginning of 2000. Successful results of work gave grounds to Ceausescu to declare officially in May, 1989 that from the technical point of view Romania was capable to produce nuclear weapon.

In December of 1989 Ceausescu was dethrone and shot.

In 1991 Romania agreed to put nuclear objects and centers of nuclear researches under complete control of IAEA and agreed on carrying out of universal inspections of all objects. There were 13.5 kg of highly enriched uranium (80%) in Romania. Therefore in 2003 CIA and RDF carried out joint secret operation to export the fuel to RF for processing into material unsuitable for weapon use. Material was brought to Bucharest by army motor transport, shipped on IL-76 and sent to "Novosibirsk Factory of Chemical Concentrates"

Total quantity of U235 in products made 9703,04 gr, the sum of isotopes of uranium - 14166.58 gr. Transportation was carried out by request of the International agency on atomic energy, financed at the expense of Energy Department of the USA. The consignor - the National commission on control over nuclear activity of Romania. Ministry of Atomic Energy of Russia carried out general coordination over carrying out of operation. On September, 21st eight canisters containing enriched to 80% uranium were delivered to the airport of Bucharest and shipped on the Russian cargo plane IL-76. The American experts observed operation, "Washington Post" informs.

Inspection of the Romanian nuclear objects carried out by IAEA showed that since 1985 Romania had been carrying our secret experiments on chemical allocation of weapon plutonium.

Corresponding radiochemical laboratory for work with irradiated nuclear fuel was opened in 1983. Plant on processing of irradiated nuclear fuel with capacity 1 kg of plutonium a year was installed at the same place. Inspection of IAEA in Romania in 1992 revealed 470 gr of allocated plutonium in laboratory of Institute of atomic energy. The nuclear program was stopped in connection with mode crash.

By results of inspections at session of Board of governors of IAEA on June, 17th, 1992 Bucharest was warned about necessity of full scrapping of the nuclear military program in the shortest terms, a number of requirements were put forward:

- full termination of nuclear researches in military purposes and destruction of industrial equipment intended for these purposes;

- installation of control devices of IAEA at the Institute of Atomic Energy in Pishet and on atomic power station Chernavoda;

- acceptance of urgent legislative and administrative measures on control over nuclear activity;

- creation of uniform body to control over nuclear activity subordinate directly to prime minister;

- placing of all nuclear objects under control of IAEA;

- official acknowledgement of strict observance of international agreements on non-distribution of ABC weapons by Romania.

All these conditions have been executed by Bucharest, the fact was confirmed by delegation of IAEA in April, 1994.
