About Essence of the Political Struggle in Ukraine for Immediate Prospects

As expected, Yulia Tymoshenko didn't put up with the defeat and already declared publicly that "I would never recognize legitimacy of Yanukovych's victory with such elections". Tymoshenko set the task to the lawyers to prepare for the judicial appeal of the results of voting and actually demanded to carry out the third round. It is the reaction we wrote about on the eve of voting - there simply couldn't be any other reaction. It is necessary to say that it's not Yanukovych who won but Tymoshenko who lost. All Tymoshenko's strategy was clear a year prior to elections - to collect in the first round less, than Yanukovych but to "pick up" voices of all who are against Yanukovych to the second round - that politician was the most convenient opponent for Tymoshenko in the second round and she lost to him. Why?

40% of Calculated Reports in Ukraine: without Surprises

Preliminary results of a poll in Ukraine did not bring surprises - according to processing of 40,72% of reports of local election committees, 36,8 % of voters voted in the first round of presidential elections for Victor Yanukovych, 24.43% - for Julia Timoshenko. Such data was published in press centre of CEC at night on Monday. 12.98% voted for Sergey Tigipko, 6.72% - for Arseny Jatsenyuk, 4.97% - for Victor Yushchenko. 2.21% didn't support any of 18 candidates. >>

Pacific road towards socialism

As it is evident from the facts of reality and from the analysis of Pacific Unity League, the ruling groups of Oceania are not interested in development on the basis of economic self-sufficiency and real progress. They are interested in the preservation of a dead-end economic model since their true social nature is comprador i.e. they are intermediaries between national market and owners of foreign capital, which penetrating this market. The path in which they are pushing their own people is the path of eternal underdevelopment and neo-colonial dependence. The unenviable fate of low-wage lackeys of rich Western tourists and unhappy lot to become guest workers in Australia and New Zealand are in store for the peoples on this path. It is the path of destruction all national traditions and culture with transforming them into exotic entertainment for the wealthy Western tourists. And the only way out that letting the Oceania peoples to avoid this sad future is path to socialism.

The US president Barrack Hussein Obama authorized sending of 13 thousand military men in Afghanistan in addition to 21 thousand soldiers whose sending he declared in March of the current year, newspaper The Washington Post informs. As a result the American military contingent in Afghanistan will be strengthened, in total, by 34 thousand people.

Increase in number of armies in Afghanistan confirmed by the US president who in the end of the past week was given Nobel Peace Prize led to that total number of military men in units placed in Iraq and Afghanistan exceeded their number in the maximum American military presence in Iraq in 2007 and the beginning of 2008. >>

Yushchenko Accused Soviet Authority of Genocide of the Ukrainians

Yesterday the president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko during working trip to Ivano-Frankovsk region opened Museum of Victims of Communistic Reprisals in "Demjanov Laz". As UNIAN transfers, the head of the state examined its exhibits: personal things of the victims, documents, archival materials. Among expositions there are even skulls with several apertures from bullets and other finds which "show all cruelty of communistic mode". There are in the museum pictures which display history of executions in "Demjanov Laz". Uniqueness of museum is that except surnames of the shot there is a full list of employees of People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs which tortured and shot prisoners of Stanislavsky prison.

The Left in Greece Will Get Majority in Parliament and Will Form the Government

On parliamentary elections passed on Sunday, October, 4th in Greece oppositional Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) leads, Agence France Presse informs referring to the data of interrogation of voters near to exits from polling districts.

The party of the Greek socialists is headed by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs George Papandreou. As Reuters informs, exit - polls testify that more than 40 percent of voters voted for socialists. It is enough to receive majority in parliament and to form the government. >>

Ukraine is Near to Default More than Ever

Ukraine was close to a default because of the world economic crisis strengthened by crisis of power in the country, known financier George Soros considers. "Ukrainian economy - is one of those which suffered most strongly from crisis. Ukraine approached default closely. It's already good that it managed to avoid awful situation," - Soros said during call-in show with participants of the 6th international forum "Yalta European Strategy". Thus, the financier considers that "political situation when only the president without the government supervises central bank" became one of the reasons of especially strong influence of economic crisis on Ukraine".
